WoodWright for Windows is free to download, install, and use — on every machine in your shop. No account is required to run it, there is no seat count, no revenue cap, and no trial clock. We don't charge for updates.
That licence is free, non-exclusive, and not transferable: install WoodWright on every machine in your shop and use it for commercial work, for as long as you like. Your drawings and job files are yours — nothing here claims any interest in them, and the app keeps them in an open format on your own disk.
What you may not do with the software itself: redistribute, resell, rent, or repackage the installer or the files it ships; modify it, decompile it, reverse-engineer it, or build something derived from it; or change it so the Draftsman or the AI render calls a service other than ours. Those cloud features are metered, and re-pointing them at another provider — your own API key or anyone else's — is not a use this licence grants. None of this restricts anything applicable law says you may do regardless.
Jobs you draw are files on your own machine, in an open, documented format. We claim no ownership of your designs and take no license to them. Nothing in the desktop app requires our servers to keep working, and if we stopped tomorrow your files would still open.
The AI render and the Draftsman run on our servers and cost real money per call, so they are the one paid part. They are prepaid: you buy a credit balance and spend it down. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. When the balance reaches $0 the cloud stops before it spends anything — no overage, no invoice — and the desktop app carries on as normal. Unused credits expire twelve months after the purchase that bought them. If a purchase is refunded, the credit it bought is removed along with it.
Credit purchases are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted pages. Your card number never passes through WoodWright and we never store it; we see only what Stripe reports back — the card brand, its last four digits and its expiry month — so you can tell which card is on file.
The software is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. WoodWright is a drawing and calculating tool, not a substitute for the person at the saw: check the cut list and the sheet layout against the job before you cut. We are not liable for material, machine time, or work lost to a number you did not check.
WoodWright is owned and operated by Marcus Fall, a cabinetmaker, as an individual. There is no company behind it yet. That is also the name on the Windows installer: it is code-signed, and the publisher your computer shows you when you install it reads Marcus Fall rather than a business name. If that changes, this page changes with it.
We'll post the new version here with a new date. Continuing to use the cloud after that date means the new terms apply; the desktop app you already installed keeps working either way.
