Is it for you?

If your woodworking is cabinets, yes.

Kitchens, baths, vanities, built-ins, bookcases: the boxes, doors, drawers and face frames a cabinet shop builds, and the paperwork to build them. If you design chairs, tables or carvings, a general 3D modeller will suit you better. WoodWright won't draw a cabriole leg.

What you get

A working cabinet CAD, not a drawing app.

You draw the room, lay out each cabinet the way your shop builds it, and the paperwork falls out of the design.

  • Plan, elevation and 3D — one model, three views, walked in front of the client before you cut it.
  • Face frames to 1/32" — rails and stiles parametric, from 200+ construction parameters, not a template.
  • Cut lists from the design itself — every part the design implies, grouped by material, with QR labels for the floor.
  • True-shape nesting — grain-locked and remnant-aware; on the sample kitchen the optimizer's search takes 8 sheets down to 7.
  • G-code and DXF — direct programs for eight controllers plus a layered DXF for any CAM. Checked in a simulator; none has cut on a real machine yet.
  • Free, and yours — no seats, no revenue cap, no card, and jobs saved to your own disk in a documented format.

Straight answers

Does WoodWright run on a Mac?
Yes, as a beta. It's one app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs on macOS 13.3 or later, signed and notarized by Apple, and it's free with no account. Nobody has walked this version through on a Mac yet, so tell us what you find.
Is it woodworking software or cabinet software?
Cabinet software. It's built for kitchens, baths, vanities, built-ins and bookcases: the boxes, doors, drawers and face frames a cabinet shop builds, and the cut lists and sheet layouts to build them. If you design chairs, tables or carvings, a general 3D modeller will suit you better.
Do my drawings move between a Mac and a PC?
Yes. A WoodWright job is a file on your own disk: one header line, then plain JSON you can open in any text editor. The same file opens on a Mac and on a Windows PC, so a Mac at the desk and a PC on the shop floor work on the same jobs, and the app is free on both.
Can I print and save a PDF on a Mac?
On a Mac, print through the Mac's own print window; its PDF button saves a PDF. That's new in this beta and hasn't been seen on a Mac yet, so tell us if it doesn't work.
Does it update itself on a Mac?
Yes. When a new version is out, the app gets it ready quietly and installs it when you say so, the same as on Windows. It never restarts on its own while you have work open.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The whole desktop app is free: design, cut lists, nesting, labels, drawings and the files for your CNC. No seats, no card, nothing to cancel. Only the AI Draftsman and AI renders cost money, and only if you buy credit for them.
