What's waiting

The thing being ported is a working cabinet CAD.

This is not a Mac page for software that doesn't exist. On a Windows bench today you draw the room, lay out each cabinet the way your shop builds it, and the paperwork falls out of the design.

  • Plan, elevation and 3D — one model, three views, walked in front of the client before you cut it.
  • Face frames to 1/32" — rails and stiles parametric, from 200+ construction parameters, not a template.
  • Cut lists that can't drift — every part the design implies, grouped by material, with QR labels for the floor.
  • True-shape nesting — grain-locked and remnant-aware: 7 sheets, not 8, on the sample kitchen.
  • G-code and DXF — direct programs for eight controllers plus a layered DXF for any CAM. Simulated and read back; none has cut on a machine yet.
  • Free, and yours — no seats, no revenue cap, no card, and jobs saved to your own disk in a documented format.

Field measure

Take the room from the Mac you already have.

The field measure form runs in any browser — Safari on a MacBook, Chrome on an iMac, the phone in your pocket in the customer's kitchen. No install, no account, and it saves on the device as you type.

The common setup in this trade, and it costs nothing: WoodWright is free on every bench in the shop, so the Windows box is a machine you already own rather than a licence you have to buy.

Straight answers

Does WoodWright run on a Mac?
Not yet. WoodWright runs on Windows 10 and 11 today, and there is no macOS build to download. A macOS build is on the bench. Until it is signed and notarized there is nothing to install on a Mac, and we would rather tell you that on the first line than sell you past it.
When will the Mac version of WoodWright be ready?
We do not have a date, so we are not going to invent one. What we can tell you is the trigger rather than the timing: the Mac build is done when it is signed and notarized, which is Apple's own gate and the point at which there is something real to put on your machine.
Can I run WoodWright on a Mac with Parallels, a virtual machine or Boot Camp?
We do not know, and we are not going to guess in a direction that suits us. Nobody here has run WoodWright under Parallels, VMware, Boot Camp or CrossOver, so we have not seen what the 3D view does on any of them. Try it if you like, and tell us what happened — we will publish the answer either way.
What can I use on my Mac right now?
The field measure form. It runs in any browser, including Safari on a Mac, needs no account and no install, and keeps everything on the device. Walk the room, type the walls and the openings, and it hands you a measure file the desktop app reads plus a summary you can print for the client.
If I start on Windows, are my drawings stuck there?
No. A WoodWright job is a file on your own disk: one header line, then plain JSON you can open in any text editor on any operating system. Parts go out as layered DXF and cut lists as CSV. Nothing about the format is tied to Windows, which is the point of documenting it.
